Week 5: Low Fidelity Prototyping

Week 5  started with the team preparing for prototyping by finishing up the evaluation of brainstormed ideas. We employed the Pugh Screening Matrix to narrow down from a total of 12 full combined ideas into 6 ideas.  The top six ideas advanced on to Pugh Scoring Matrix. There was a lot of deliberation and contrasting views on which ideas were better than the others. However we made some compromises and settled on top 3 ideas which would move on to low fidelity prototyping.

Low fidelity prototyping began on Tuesday. At first each team member did their own prototype to show a concept of a chosen idea.  We then came together to evaluate the prototypes and to combine some features we liked about each one. Finally we came up with the three prototypes shown below:

Later during the week we had an interview with our clinical partner in Malawi and they gave us feedback on the 3 prototypes we had shown them. For the rest of the week we iterated upon the prototypes to incorporate the feedback. Prototyping week was very exciting and insightful. Moreover Week 6 will be focused on advancing the ideas to medium fidelity prototype and preparing for the final showcase.
