Week 6: Software bye, Electronic hello

This week we develop more software, now we have an established user interface of web page that can be access by smartphones, tablets, laptops etc. All functions working well.

All our software is working on a raspberry pi zero W that have plugged two USB cameras. The cameras and the user functions are developed in PYTHON and the U.I in PHP.

Talking about each functionality

  • ‘Start Exam’, the device turn on the lights, take a picture of the bottom, other picture of the toes, turn off the lights and show on the web page the results.
  • ‘History’, the web page show all old exams with the date and a label for each camera.
  • ‘Send Mail’, the web page send a mail with the last exam for the Patient or/and the Doctor,
  • ‘Settings’, this part is just for the basic configurations for the others functions.

I really like working develop software, but  I am excited that this part is almost finished.

Electric part (Fun part) , Caz and me (electric boys) working a entire day building and putting together all electronic parts. We have a AC power to 12V of DC for the lights, the lights now are controlled by raspberry pi using a MOSFET for allow the pi ( with 5V DC) control the lights (with 12V DC). The other power supply, 12V of DC to  5V of DC for the raspberry pi, USB HUB. After that Caz and me discovered that we have power and we also practice many tricks with our skills , and now we are the “electric boys”

Mechanical part,The enclosure, now we have a new enclosure for our project, the new design is awesome. With mirror base to reflect images and polycarbonate plate
The camera mount was designed after found the perfect angle to capture the images from the bottom part.
The toe separator are embedded on the plate and slides back and forth and works well.
Finally the time to assemble all parts. We stained and polished each of our wood enclosure pieces, now we have a disassembled beautiful enclosure.
