Oh, sorry that I didn’t make it to the Aquarium during the last weekend; the weather somehow just went south. But that did not stop us from having fun; America has lots of fun and you cannot afford to detaste them all, you can only manage to choose the one(s) that suit you. Let’s not be so rigid about our interests; if plan A fails, we can always try plan B, C, …, Z.

FROM LAKEWOOD TO LOVEWORLD

As I told you that we have been attending Church services at Lakewood Church, this week a friend invited us to Houston Christ Embassy. There are no dull moments in USA, I can assure you! You can tell from the pictures.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Would I be wrong to say there is nothing like visitor at Church? Church is a wonderful family; a family to belong. If Church was some political party, I don’t think we could be allowed to take pictures with the “bigshots”.

Lets talk about our plan B. Oh, I promised to talk about the Huffs, right? For now just know them as a wonderful family that is so passionate about Engineering projects, thus helping in alleviating some challenges in our lives. They are admirable and selfless in that they have sponsored and continue to sponsor various Engineering projects, and they are not getting old or tired of this noble duty. May God bless them for this.

So what was our plan B? We resorted into discovery! Discovering other interesting places to visit in Houston (according to google map). Then we came across this cool place. What’s cool if it’s not food and fun? So we took a Metro train to our nearest restaurant, known as McDonalds.

At the Mcdonalds, we did not waste any time but rushed straight into business. Right after we finished our meal, we got a call from some Malawian friends who live in Houston. This was more than a coincidence; it was as though the move was all well calculated! The caller asked us where we were, and we told them we wanted to explore the town. In no time, we met the Malawian friends, who took us to various places; Walmart, Forever 21, Target, BestBuy, Global, just to mention a few. It was at global where we found most of our local foods, including maize flower, tilapia fish, etc.

I feel like explaining to you everything, but I don’t know how best I can do it. and before I forget, 4th July is America’s Independence day; just two days before Malawi’s independence. Guess what? This week has a long weekend, starting Thursday. Therefore this week is not for the weak, because it is required of us to accomplish the five-days task in three days in order for our projects not to lag behind schedule.

Yes, I haven’t talked anything about our classwork. At least I’ve talked about Church, McDonalds, Metro, etc. There are a lot more things to talk about than paper and ink can allow. I haven’t talked about soccer, football, swimming, and ….

 

 

I think I won’t be fair to myself if I don’t mention two things that just happened within this week. The first thing is that Dr Matthew Wettergreen is back. The second thing is that we had our mid summer presentations for our projects. Do you know what that means? So many meanings, “days are numbering” is one of the meanings.
