week 6: Almost there

It is time to put our hands on and make our design work. This week we bought new gears, once the other ones will not arrive in time and we had to redesign some of our components to fit with our new gears!

We worked hard with wood for our sit and sliding board. In the image below I was doing a proof of concept for the attachment of two pieces of wood with holes, one pin and glue. It worked pretty well. (Safety glasses removed only for the picture)

Other good results of our hands on tasks is the perfect holes and cuts we did in the crutch that we bought for disassemble and use as footrest. It worked perfect and it is almost impossible to notice that it has been cut or that we made new holes  on that. See the image below:

For the next two days we need to assemble everything we already done, wait for Jeremy finish our screw and stands on the machine shop and assemble it as well, fix the u-track in its base by welding or opening a thread with a tap, and cut every old support from the hydraulic pump off. I am very excited to finish our project and we are working very hard to achieve our goals.
